Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone launched a beauty contest ‘Fiama Di Wills Beautiful Face 2008 Hunt’ in Mumbai on Friday. She also happens to be the brand ambassador of the popular beauty brand.

Model-turned-actress Deepika who became an overnight sensation after she made a successful Bollywood debut in 2007 with Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om starring opposite Shahrukh Khan said her journey so far in Bollywood has been fabulous.

“I’m here to launch ‘Fiama Di Wills Beautiful Face 2008 Hunt’. It is a wonderful experience for me. I am someone who came from Bangalore to Mumbai and the city of Mumbai gave me a wonderful opportunity to take my dreams forward and become an actor,” said Deepika.

Beautiful unknown faces will be given a platform to showcase their talent, courtesy this contest. From all the entries received only 15 girls will be short listed and taken to New Delhi for grooming. The contestants will then go on to compete in the final round of the Elite Model Look India Hunt 2008 which will be held at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week in New Delhi in October this year.

The winner of this beauty contest will get an opportunity to represent the country at the global Elite Model Look 2008 contest, which will be held in China in November this year.

Now that Rock On has found acceptance, there’s talk that the film will be released all over again in key international markets.

Sure, the film has had an international release, but rumours are rife that the makers will re-release the film with a shorter version and at places, by dubbing in English.

There are reports that producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar have entrusted Abhishek Kapoor the responsibility of making a sequel to Rock On.

Lara added tons to the glam quotient with her sexy charm, and Rani was just too bubbly. She was yapping non-stop about everything. One of the questions thrown at her were if two actors could be friends, and she immediately brought up the Salman-SRK war!

Rani said she felt very bad about them having differences, as she loves Shah Rukh and Salman equally.

Salman made full use of this opportunity and gave Rani a lecture on how insecurities can get in the way of dosti, and explained the whole thing in a jovial manner.

Rani won only one lakh, but Sony TV gave her 10 lakh so she could donate the entire sum to Salman’s Being Human Foundation. Wow!
