Bhandarkar Fumes As ‘Fashion’ Gets ‘A’ Certificate

20th October

Madhur Bhandarkar is plain amused that his ‘Fashion’ has got an adults-only certificate. Especially so since the kind of scenes for, which he was challenged have been quite common in his earlier films. For the uninitiated, when ‘Fashion’ was presented to Censors for a certificate, they objected to a few scenes revolving around Priyanka-Arjan lovemaking and drug intake by Priyanka and Kangana for general viewing.

“They felt that these sequences should only be shown to the mature audience. This is why they gave Fashion an ‘A’ certificate. Their reasoning is that people below 18 years should not be exposed to scenes like these, especially the ones around drug intake,” informs Madhur Bhandarkar who just wants to move on with the promotion of the film while leaving this incident behind.

‘Kidnap’ Has More Emotions And Drama Than ‘Dhoom’: Sanjay Gadhvi

27th September

Director Sanjay Gadhvi says his next movie Kidnap is much different from his previous action thrillers Dhoom and Dhoom 2 .According to the director, ‘Kidnap’ is high on emotions and drama compared to his flicks in the ‘Dhoom’ series.”It (Kidnap) may not be superslick and stylish like the ‘Dhoom’ films which were packaged entertainers.

This is a story about a man who has not seen his daughter for the last eight years and how he comes to save the 18 year old who has been kidnapped out of revenge. There is more of emotions and drama unlike the ‘Dhoom’ movies,” Gadhvi told a news agency.
The movie stars Imran Khan as the kidnapper. Minissha Lamba plays the 18-year-old daughter of Sanjay Dutt .

‘Kidnap’ also marks Gadhvi’s departure from Yashraj Films , the banner for which he made three flicks before parting ways.

“I first directed Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai , a romantic comedy for the banner and due to its success I was assigned to do two more films. The contract has ended and so I moved out,” Gadhvi is quoted as saying.
Gadhvi added that if he had stayed with the banner he might have had to co-produce his fourth film.

“This is one of the reasons I left Yashraj because after my three-film contract ended, I would have had to become a producer and co-produce my next film with the banner. I want to sleep well. I would like to continue being a director only,” says the young filmmaker.

However, Gadhvi does not rule out working with the banner once again.

Meanwhile, ‘Kidnap’ is set to hit the theatres on October 2. It faces competition from the Abhishek Bachchan starrer Drona .
