Filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh is ready with his next babyu Aladin starring Big B as the genie and Rietesh as Aladin and the director claims that it is on par with Hollywood magical movies Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings.
He says, “Our funda was simple, we had to make a movie which is indeed world class. Indian audiences aren’t alien to ‘Harry Potter’ or The Lord of the Rings series. We couldn’t have given them anything less. We knew it would cost a lot of money but somehow we had an inkling that we would be able to raise it.”
The flick also has Sanjay Dutt playing the role of a villain and the music is composed by musical duo Vishal and Shekhar.

Remember actor Parmeet Sethi (from DDLJ to whom Kajol is supposed to get married) is all set to turn a director and is making his directorial debut with Yash Raj Banner.
Parmeet’s upcoming flick resembles Rock On alot in story line, but it is about a Punjabi band.
A source reveals, “Parmeet is quite excited about his directorial debut and is currently looking for an apt title. The film is based on a group of 5-6 people who form a band for Punjabi rock music. While Shahid Kapur and Anushka Sharma have already been finalised to play pivotal roles, Parmeet has also signed Veer Das and Indian Idol contestant Meiyang Chang as lead actors for the film. The film is based on the life and music of the rock band, and how the music changes their lives and eventually brings them together again.”

Parmeet Sethi says, “I won’t say that my film has got nothing to do with music but it is not exactly based on what you are saying.”

The Cannes Film Festival is not only about movies, it’s also about business. It’s the key annual event where producers and distributors from all over the world meet up to discuss projects and to strike deals. This year’s festival takes place from the 14-25 May and the President of the Jury will be French actress Isabelle Huppert.
What better location could there be for Sajid Nadiadwala to launch his mega-project Kambakht Ishq which stars Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor with a host of American stars such as Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Superman Brandon Routh? The film is likely to be dubbed in English for the event.
News that Kareena Kapoor appears in a bikini in the movie has created mounting excitement, so much so that a Bihar entrepreneur has offered 1 crore alone for the distribution rights in that region. A 2-crores promotional video is also being made with Akshay and Sylvester. The movie looks destined to be this year’s big big hit!
Kareena has certainly been talking up the movie recently. “It’s a film which is full of glamour,” she says, “It has all the elements of a commercial film. You have exciting moments, lot of glitz and glamour and a whole lot of stunning locations to enjoy. I am quite excited about this film because I have an entirely new look in it.”
